What does Bonobo use to make beats?

If you Dialed "A" for Answers, you came to the right place. Here are some select quotes from an interview with XLR8R:

B: A friend of mine introduced me to samplers, and I picked up an Akai [S950] and an Atari and started playing my guitar and drums straight into the sampler.

B: I had one microphone [a Rode NT1].

B: I've been using an Avalon [VT-737SP] as a front end. It's a mono vacuum-tube compressor and EQ, and it's really nice... I use it for everything. Then the whole thing goes into [Apple] Logic. With the exception of a few reverbs and some other outboard stuff, I'm doing everything with Logic and [Native Instruments] Kontakt.

In the photo on the XLR8R interview, it looks like Bonobo also uses a Korg X5 keyboard. The modern Bonobo has evolved into a one-man-band of sorts, as seen in this interview with In Your Speakers:

IYS: How do you create your music, is it just you at a laptop, or do you bring in other musicians?

SG: I play all the instruments myself. I have a studio in my home in London, so I play all the instruments on the record. I was a musician before [being a DJ/producer]. I can write stuff on the piano and I record it, get on the computer and start chopping things up.
